Slash That vs Text Blaze: an honest comparison
Text Blaze and Slash That are both text template tools that live in your browser. Text Blaze is a mature, feature-rich platform. Slash That is deliberately simpler, with AI and translations built into every template. Here's how they compare, and who each one is for.
- Choose Slash That if you want something anyone on your team can use in 30 seconds, with AI rewriting and one-click translations inside each template, and fewer than 100 templates at the lowest price.
- Choose Text Blaze if you need advanced forms and if/then rules in your snippets, desktop apps for Windows and macOS, mature team admin, or unlimited snippets at the lowest price.

1. Price: it depends on how many templates you need
If you have fewer than 100 templates, Slash That Lite costs $29 a year and already includes the AI tools, folders and search. Text Blaze Pro costs $2.99 a month billed yearly, about $36 a year.
If you need unlimited templates, Text Blaze is cheaper: Slash That Pro is $59 a year. For teams, Text Blaze Business has a public price of $6.99 per user per month, while Slash That's team sharing is on a custom-priced Enterprise plan.
2. Simplicity vs power
Text Blaze is a powerful platform. Snippets can include forms, dropdowns, tables, images and if/then rules, and connect to data in Data Blaze. For operations teams building complex, rule-based messages, that's a real advantage.
Slash That focuses on the 90% case: a well-written message with a few fields to fill in. Type /, pick the template from the menu, fill in the name and send. There's nothing to learn, which is why it works for salespeople, support agents, medical receptionists and assistants on their first day.
3. AI: improve the template once, or rewrite every message
The two products use AI differently. In Slash That, AI lives inside the template editor. You make a template warmer, shorter or more formal, or add a translation, once. Every time you insert it after that, the message is instant and identical.
Text Blaze offers AI through AI Blaze, a separate extension that writes or rewrites text from prompts as you work. It's flexible, but each message is generated fresh. If you want approved wording that comes out the same way every time, the Slash That approach is more predictable.
4. Multilingual teams
Slash That keeps every language version of a message in the same template: /intro, /intro.fr, /intro.de. Update the English version and translate it again in one click. In Text Blaze, you either keep a separate snippet per language or rewrite with AI each time.
5. Where Text Blaze is the better choice
We'd rather you pick the right tool. Text Blaze is ahead when:
- You need advanced snippets. Forms, if/then rules, tables and Data Blaze go far beyond simple fill-in fields.
- You work outside the browser. It has apps for Windows and macOS. Slash That currently works in Chrome.
- You need mature team admin today. Its Business and Enterprise plans include user roles, usage analytics, SSO and audit logs.
- You want unlimited snippets at the lowest price. Text Blaze Pro costs less than Slash That Pro.
The verdict
Text Blaze is the more powerful platform for teams that need forms, rules and desktop apps. Slash That is the simpler choice for people who write to customers all day and want great templates with AI rewriting and translations built in, without learning anything new.
